A Missionary's Heart



God has called us to let go of our insecurities, our comfort zone & our every fear.
To give it all away for our savior.

Matthew 28:19
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.


I thought this is something I would share because it is a huge part of my life.
Traveing, doing mission work and spreading the love & hope
of Jesus will always be a wondeful burden in my heart.
A burden I can't shake. 


Before I went to Africa I always felt like something was missing in my life. Jesus.
I felt so close to God while being there for over two months
and strived to be more like Him.
Not a day goes by that I don't think about Africa
and all the children & amazing people I miss.
You get a strange feeling when you leave a place, like you'll not only
miss the people you love, but you miss the person you are at this time and place.
I know that Jesus has placed a special place in my heart for Africa.
These are my people. My kids. I love & miss them with all my heart.
My aching heart longs to be with them. 
I totally grasped and saw the Joy and Hope of Jesus in these kids.

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names...
see their faces...hold them in your arms,
but once you do Everything changes" -David platt


I see those joyful faces praising Jesus for hours.
I miss Dancing & Singing to Jesus with all those little brown faces.
 Eating Rice, Pineapple & Mango, Boda Boda Rides,
Hugs & Kisses from little people & everything that comes
along while living in Africa! I miss every part.


Have you ever had a dream you could never shake?
No matter where you went or what you did that desire was always inside you. 
Have you thought that maybe it's a calling?
A journey God could be calling you to do.
He's waiting for you.
If we wait for the right moment we'll be waiting the rest of our lives.
Get out of your comfort zone and follow Jesus- even if it's around
the world where you could be at risk or if it's in your own backyard.
Follow Him! Start living your life doing what Jesus wants you to do.
Follow that dream. Pray constantly about it. Prepare yourself. And go. Follow Christ. 
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8)


PRAYER

Jesus I love you so much and can't wait to see what you have in store for my life.
I promise to wait patently and rely on you, I trust you, and want your Will not my own.
Thank you for putting this wonderful burden on my heart!
Thank you for this Africian dream.

Modesty Is Beautiful

 1 Timothy 2:8-10

“I desire…that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.“
Christian women should concern themselves with modesty because the Bible does. This text is a primary example

Modesty is about behavior and attitude, not just clothing

When Paul says that women should wear “respectable apparel,” the term “apparel” is probably translated too narrowly: it is a term that encompasses not just clothing, but one’s whole demeanor, attitude, and actions.
Ultimately, what should adorn a woman is not just clothing but “good works.” As Christians, we are being remade by God for good works (Ephesians 2:10). Christ died so that we might be zealous for good works (Titus 2:14). Women should seek to dress their lives in works that do good to others, marked with godly love

This means modesty is not simply about what we wear, but how we act, how we communicate, and how relate to others.
When it comes to the subject of modest clothing, the first question we should ask ourselves is: What am I trying to accomplish by what I wear?

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."



Matthew 5:28 
But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

I heard this phrase being used recently, and it got me thinking about how in the present day evil is so often put for good, and good for evil (Isaiah 5:20). In our modern 'culture', all Godly attributes are scorned, with the notion of modest dress often being simply laughed at. In this article I will consider why Christians should separate themselves from the world, and will make the case for modest dress.

I would also argue that modesty works both ways, and that men should also take heed as to how they present themselves to women!
The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. (Deuteronomy 22:5)

"Loving ourselves as we are"

How to be content~
For most of us, being content with what we have, who we are, what we do and what we look like is very challenging. We are flooded with images of people who are better-looking, have more wealth or are better at doing something than we are. And it will always be that way. We can’t control how beautiful, successful or talented others are. What we can do is avoid comparison—and practice contentment with who we are. 

The Trouble With Discontentment~
How often do we catch ourselves complaining about how we look or feel or how poorly we think we’re doing, How often are we frustrated that our bodies don't look the way we want. Let’s be honest: How chronic is our need to be different from the way we are?
Loving Ourselves As We Are~
Can we learn to fall in love with who we are? This includes our lives, our bodies, problems? or purpose. Practicing with contentment teaches us that we really do have everything we need right here, right now. When we are constantly focused on what we don’t have, we only get more of what we don’t have! If most of our thoughts center on not being thin enough, not being strong enough, not being attractive or rich enough, we will continue to experience lack in our lives. God doesn't want that. Look around you and see what you have to be content with right here in this moment. Focus on that and watch your stress levels drop and your mood start to lift.

God wants you to love yourself. he doesn't care about how skinny your are or how pretty you are. He made you the way you are and wants you to except yourself. If your not happy with your body then make some changes. Don't eat healthy or workout to be pretty or "easy to the eye" Do it because you want to. Because you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself...love yourself!


1 Corinthians 10:31

 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

The "Go to friend"

Have you ever felt like you just don't fit in anywhere? You feel like you don't belong, A shadow in the corner. The one who watches everyone, the one who doesn't get picked, chosen or even noticed by anyone? Have you tried to change who you are to be accepted by other? To try to fit in? That is a common thing teens do. They want to be popular and the one "everyone" wants to hangout with...The "Fun" friend...
Well I have never been the fun friend.... I am the "Go to" friend when someone needs help or someone to talk to. When I was younger I struggled with that. I didn't understand why no one wanted to just talk or hang out with me. Why did they only come to me when they felt alone? I didn't understand.
Today I thank God everyday that I am the "Go To" Friend. God has given me the gift of encouraging people and helping them through hard times. He gives me the words to say and the ability to pray with them. Being a mentor (Or the "Go to friend") is something i really enjoy, Its something I've done for years but never thought of it as "Serving God" or "Being a good servant"
I am honored to help these girls through hard times and draw them closer to God, Because that is what I'm trying to do. I'm not going to tell them "Life is okay and you'll get through this" But that God is the only way and He will help them. I am just here to remind them that God is Always there....

At times it gets frustrating, tiring, and kinda drains you from life. But God is helping Me and I am growing in His word everyday. Helping others helps me too! 
Everyone needs someone to encourage them, pray for them, and draw them closer to God.
I am honored to be the "Go to friend"

Waiting for Love

Waiting for the right one can be hard at times...Wondering if the right one will ever find you...You may feel discouraged and you might loose the dream of finding a spouse and starting a life. But don't give up hoping..God has the right person for you. Maybe He has other plans for you. Maybe hes waiting until you trust Him fully. There could be lots of reasons...Listen to God. Trust Him and live you life to the fullest and wait patently for God to send the right person for you. It can be hard expectantly if most people around you are in a relationship or seem like they have it together...Your time will come no matter your age.... Felling lonely is one of the worst feelings but we are NEVER alone...God is always there....You need to listen to Him. He is always talking.....when you feel alone go to a quiet place alone and read your bible, pray, and just listen..Try to keep your mind quiet (Which is very hard) and just listen.... God will bless you! :)
Stay strong and keep the faith! Remember God is ALWAYS there.....Open your ears! :)

Defender For The Orphan



I want to be a voice for the voiceless, a helper for the weak, A Defender for the Orphan and Widow! Here I am Jesus, Send ME. 

Psalms 68:5-6
“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families"

Matthew 25:40
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me.'


Isaiah 1:17
Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.
